About Saddle Up Estates ~ Where Neighbours Become Friends |
The idea to develop an equestrian lifestyle community came to Paul Devos several years ago on a golfing trip to southern Arizona. On the way to a golf course south of Phoenix, Paul came upon a number of these equestrian developments in the middle of the desert. Paul & Cheryl Devos, though not horse owners themselves, have many friends with horses, and are very aware of the challenges facing people with busy schedules. Sometimes these schedules make the equine lifestyle nearly impossible and definitely full of sacrifices. Whereas living in a community of like minded horse loving people, it is comparatively easy to find a friend or neighbour to care for your horses, should you be away for an extra couple of hours, or even a couple of weeks for vacation. Paul has been a Journeyman Automotive Mechanic all his life, and has, in the last 14 years, moved his |
business to Rural Alberta. Paul and Cheryl Devos have developed a real love for the country lifestyle and the laid-back and honorable character of people in the country. They already make Saddle Up Estates their home. When Paul decided to get out of mechanics, he recalled those equestrian developments, and followed a lifelong passion for playing in the dirt (his Mom says he’s always loved playing in the dirt) and pursue this concept of building a small country residential community with the horse lover in mind. In partnership with his longtime friend and business accountant, Andre Bultmann, Paul embarked on a development approval process that did not come without challenges, but with approvals from all levels of government now in place, the vision is currently in the process of becoming a reality. |
